Chakradance

A POWERFUL MOVEMENT THERAPY PRACTICE FOR HEALING & EMOTIONAL BALANCE

Step into a calm, candlelit space where you can simply breathe, move, and let the world fall away. Chakradance offers a gentle way to release stress, soothe emotions, and bring yourself back into balance — all through free-flowing movement with your eyes closed and no steps to learn. It’s a space to reconnect with yourself, feel supported, and leave feeling lighter, calmer, and more centred.

What is Chakradance?

Chakradance™ is a healing movement practice based on Jungian psychology that blends free-flowing dance, guided imagery, and rhythmic music to rebalance your energy from the inside out. It’s not about learning steps or performing — it’s about letting your body move naturally, reconnecting with yourself, and gently tuning in to the wisdom of your energy centres (chakras).

As the music guides you through each chakra, you may find that stuck emotions begin to shift, your mind quietens, and your body feels lighter and freer.

Although every class is unique — sometimes we journey through all seven chakras, other times we give special attention to just one chakra.

The Benefits of Chakradance

Life’s pressures, stress, and emotional overload can leave us feeling disconnected, scattered, or out of balance. Chakradance helps to restore your natural flow, bringing harmony to body, mind, and spirit. Some of the many benefits include:

  • Emotional balance and inner calm — gently release tension and process emotions in a safe, supportive way.

  • Greater self-awareness — reconnect with who you truly are beneath the noise of everyday life.

  • Stress relief and deep relaxation — allow your nervous system to settle and reset.

  • Increased vitality and clarity — feel more energised, grounded, and focused.

  • A sense of freedom and joy — rediscover movement as a natural expression of your soul.

Chakradance is open to everyone — whether you’re a seasoned meditator or brand new to self-care practices. Many people who feel emotions strongly (including empaths, HSPs, or those who identify as neurodivergent) find this practice especially soothing and transformative.

What to expect in a Chakradance™ class

It can feel daunting and overwhelming attending a class, particularly if you don't know what is going to happen - I get it - I feel it too. So, to ease any anxiety, this is what you can expect in a Chakradance class:

  • When you arrive, you’ll be warmly welcomed into a softly lit space, often by candlelight, where you can leave the outside world at the door.

  • Classes are done in low lighting to help you feel comfortable and free.

  • Each session starts with a short opening meditation to let go of your day.

  • After a small introduction we begin to warm our body with some gentle movements.

  • Then we move into the dance, combining guided imagery and music to the specific resonance of the chakra, to help you explore and balance your energy centres.

  • Eyes are closed or gaze lowered so you’re fully immersed in your own journey rather than focused on others.

  • Then its just tuning in to the music, and simply allowing your body to move in whatever way feels natural to you — no judgment, no right or wrong.

  • Some classes will guide you through all seven chakras, while others may focus more deeply on one specific chakra to bring extra healing and balance.

  • The energy you have danced is then brought up and out onto paper as we draw our experience in a mandala circle. No need for artistry skills here, it is merely your self-expression, your energy, reflected in the mandala art.

  • Afterwards is an invitation to provide feedback, but there is no obligation if you prefer not to share.

  • We then close with a short meditation before leaving feeling lighter, emotionally balanced, and free.

You don’t need to be fit, flexible, or a “dancer.” This is movement for your soul, not performance for anyone else. Just bring an open mind, a willingness to explore, and comfortable clothing to move in.
